New Exhibition at The Stanley Road Store

The Stanley Road Store has announced their next exciting event, this time a solo exhibition by The Stereo Typist. Running from the 6th to the 20th September, it features unique and original prints inspired by modernism and pop culture.

Alex Borg, aka The Stereo Typist is inspired by a love of retro pop culture and modernism and has designed record covers for Paul Weller and Skint records amongst others. As a kid he discovered his parent’s record collection which introduced him to the likes of The Kinks, Otis Redding, James Brown, Aretha Franklin, The Who, The Beatles & Stones. A seed was planted and a deep love of music and pop culture began. Alex loved drawing and has always been drawn to bright colours. The Beatles’ Yellow Submarine animation left an indelible impression. His love of music and art continues stronger than ever. Having been in a few bands and worked at a few design agencies over the last 20 years, his very favourite way of spending time is making the pictures you will find at The Stanley Road Store from the 6th.

Pop along and meet the artist 6-10pm on the 6th and discover why The Stanley Road Department Store is the shop of choice for all things colourful, creative, fun and innovative! You will be amazed how many wonderful finds can be packed into two shop floors at 54-55 Market Street.

The exhibition is open every day 11am-5.30pm. You can also purchase art prints direct from Alex’s website here.
